About Me

I'm a 7th generation Tennessean who grew up in  Hendersonville, Tennessee.  After graduating from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a Bachelor of Science in Communications, I returned to Nashville and worked in the banking and health insurance industries before working at Nashville Electric Service (NES) as a Corporate Communications Specialist.  

I've always had a passion for volunteering whether it be tutoring in the inner city schools, assisting in my children's classrooms, preserving history through transcribing records or assisting others with their family history, assisting at the annual Brentwood Arbor Day Celebration and Public Safety Day, placing wreaths for Wreaths Across America, organizing various charity auctions, sending care packages to members of our active military, collecting formal gowns for our military families, and serving local veterans. 

My husband, Stuart, and I lived in Nashville before moving to Brentwood in 1999 specifically for the schools.  All four of our children attended Williamson County public schools, the oldest three graduating from Brentwood High School where our youngest is currently attending.

I have served those around me and the community my entire life and I'm ready to serve the teachers, students, parents, and taxpayers as your newest school board member.

• Served on the Scales Elementary PTO as Yearbook Chair for 6+ years handling the yearbook creation and sales.
• Volunteered in my children's classrooms as room mom and as an after-school instructor.
• Active Member of the Sarah Polk chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution currently serving as Chaplain and chapter chair of Constitution Week and Sunshine committees; previously served as the Tennessee Cameo Society President, Tennessee Society Daughters of the American Revolution State Conference Co-Chair and Project Patriot special co-chair.
• Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee volunteer since 1997. Served as troop leader, troop cookie coordinator, Service Unit Manager and Cookie Coordinator for troops at Scales Elementary, Lipscomb Elementary, Edmondson Elementary, Brentwood Middle, Brentwood High, and Currey Ingram Academy.
• Served on Brentwood United Methodist Church's Sonshine Choir Auction as Acquisition Co-Chair for 4 years.
• 2018 graduate of Brentwood Fire & Rescue Citizens Academy
• 2023 graduate of Brentwood Police Citizens Academy
• Current Brentwood Tree Board member
• Current Beech Historical Cemetery Board member
• Member of Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church
